We believe everything we have belongs to God.

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21

Why give?

We believe that everything we have belongs to God. What we do with what God has given us, shows the world where our hearts are and helps extend the reach of the gospel. We want to glorify God with every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our finances.

How does the church budget work?

Each year, the staff, elders, Finance Team, and Personnel Team prayerfully develop a budget that reflects the ministry goals and mission of First Baptist Church Newcastle. The budget is presented to and affirmed by the church body, ensuring that every dollar given is used to advance ministry, missions, and discipleship both locally and globally.

Where does my money go?

Every gift helps fuel ministry through FBCN: locally, nationally, and globally. Your gifts support weekly Sunday worship gatherings, small groups, midweek, missions, discipleship, preschool, children, and student ministries, outreach, ministry staff, and the ongoing operations that make ministry possible every week. You can see a breakdown of our budget here. 2025 Budget PDF

FAQ

Does FBCN receive outside funding?
No. All of FBC Newcastle's ministry is funded entirely through the faithful giving of our members and attenders. We don't receive financial support from outside organizations. Everything we do is made possible by the generosity and stewardship of our church family.
Can I give designated gifts?
Yes, while most giving goes to the general budget to meet ongoing ministry needs, you can also designate gifts for approved special projects or missions. Designated gifts should align with the church's mission and be approved by leadership to ensure proper stewardship.
Should I choose one-time gifts or regular giving?
Both make a difference! One-time gifts help meet immediate needs, while regular giving allows the church to plan ahead and sustain ministry all year long. Faithful, consistent giving reflects ongoing trust in God's provision.
Why do I need to pay for an event if events are budgeted?
Event fees often help cover specific costs like food, materials, travel, or guest speakers that exceed what the budget provides. This keeps events affordable for everyone while ensuring that general giving continues to fund regular ministry.
What does non-profit really mean?
It means FBCN operates not to make money but to make disciples. Every dollar given goes directly toward ministry and mission efforts, never for personal profit or shareholders.
If I can't do 10%, does my giving make a difference?
Absolutely. God calls us to give faithfully, not to compare amounts. Every gift, large or small, matters when it's given with a willing heart and used together for God's glory.
Who oversees the finances of the church?
Financial oversight is shared among our Elders, Staff, Finance Team, and Personnel Team. Both the Finance Team and Personnel Team are made up of lay members of the church who help ensure integrity, accountability, and transparency in all financial decisions. In addition, on the second Sunday of every month, we hold a member meeting where the finance team provides a full financial report. This report allows our church family to stay informed and engaged in how resources are being stewarded for ministry. Every year we present our next year's proposed budget to the church in our November Member Meeting. We then vote on the budget in our December Member Meeting.
Does FBCN spend all that it receives each year?
No, Not in a typical year. Each year, FBC Newcastle operates within an approved ministry budget, and we do not usually spend every dollar received. When giving exceeds expenses, the surplus is set aside for future ministry needs, capital projects, and debt reduction. We believe in both generosity and stewardship, using what God provides wisely and planning for sustainability in future years.
What is LTV? And how is it different from the budget?
Living the Vision is our ongoing commitment to see God’s vision for our church become reality. It’s more than a campaign or a project; it’s investing in future generations.

Living the Vision is our capital campaign that has enabled us to build the space for ministry we now use every single week. We are currently retiring the debt for our latest expansion project, the new Worship Center and Atrium Space.

Living the Vision giving is a designated fund operating separately from our annual general budget.
How do I get a copy of my giving statement?
Thank you for your generosity! Giving statements are emailed out quarterly and can be accessed through your Church Center App anytime. Year-end giving statements are mailed/emailed in mid-January. If you are unable to access your giving statement or have questions, please email info@fbcnewcaslte.com.
Who can I ask if I have more questions?
You can reach out to our church financial office or any of our pastors or finance team. They'd be glad to answer questions and help you understand how giving fuels the mission of First Baptist Church Newcastle. info@fbcnewcastle.com
